Porsche GT3R eGT Challenge 2021 Zandvoort

A consolation point in Zandvoort

Zandvoort, The Netherlands – Patrice Deltell battled hard for a 15th place finish in the PRO-AM class in his Porsche 911 R at the 6th round of the eGT3 Challenge, earning the team a point in the standings.

This race was more eventful than the previous ones, Deltell even received a 30-second penalty after a contact with Danick Van Daele. Fortunately, this penalty did not cost too many positions at the finish.

“It was nice to see our driver racing wheel to wheel […] despite a few incidents, he showed good composure and things can only get better,” said Jean Deslauriers after the event.

Deltell had the following comments when he got out of his car: “The hard fights with Beauregard and Van Daele finally allowed me to show myself as a strong character and technically defensive driver […] I had a lot of fun fighting in the middle of the pack attracting even the SFTV cameras and providing a great show for our fans. “

Regarding his season, Deltell said “For the moment, I continue to learn in this league which includes, let’s not forget, excellent drivers who are part of the world elite […] Serious tenors such as Boivin, Labrecque, Landry and Bourduas, rise among the world elite […] Quebec is packed with talent and I seize this great opportunity to develop as a virtual driver. […] I drive in a friendly and constructive atmosphere with the DES Simulation team, which supports me and shows me all their confidence.”

Team owner Jean Deslauriers agreed with his driver’s comments. “Patrice is a very consistent driver and that is very important to us. This is our first season and we still have a lot to learn and master to compete at the front. […] A top 10 by the end of the season would be a very good result for us. “

The team is now preparing for the next event in two weeks time in Italy at the legendary Monza circuit. It will be crucial for the team to find the right settings to maximize the top speed on this ultra-fast track. The team has already started testing to be ready.
